Using Words to Bring Light

My life has been a life of stories...
From my earliest childhood, when my grandmother would tell us stories at bedtime. She not only told the stories, she transported us to magical worlds full of wonder.
As I grew older, I began creating my own stories, not just at bedtime, but whenever I had the opportunity to be quiet and still.
I wrote my first book after our first daughter was born. That was over 40 years ago. Since then, I’ve written, or at least started several others, but they, along with my first one, languish in a closet, unpublished. Until that is, God intervened with a new plan.
Since 2017, I have written and published six books in the Children of Light series, and I will launch the seventh book in the new year.
As life moved on, my writing evolved...
Several factors led to my new writing style and the purpose behind my books.
We retired and moved from Calgary, AB, to Chatham, ON.
The move took me away from the crazy, busy life I led to a peaceful, quiet home.
The distance made me more dependent on God, for He now had to care for our daughters. It was a huge leap of faith, but we were confident that God was orchestrating this early retirement and move.
I had more time to spend with God and in His word.
Isolation as a tool...
The move caused me to be more isolated, and it gave me the time I needed to focus and write.
Then came COVID, and the isolation grew larger… but it gave me more time not only to write, but to study the Word of God deeply.
It was then that I discovered that the Holy Spirit was guiding my writing.
Writing under the guidance of the Holy Spirit...
First...
The Holy Spirit is the difference in my writing today from what it was all those years ago.
He has made my stories stronger, with a Godly message, one that reflects the heart of God.
When I write with the Holy Spirit, there is an entirely different flow to my writing. There are no more writing blocks. No more agonizing over the message.
Now, God is the Author, and I am His Scribe, but God still has an even bigger plan for me.
Second...
Through the Sweetspot Mastermind Program and the Living and Learning Legacies, I have come to realize that God has a far greater plan for me than just writing books.
He wants me to share what I've learned.
I’ve always wanted to share what God has taught me, but I didn’t know how and lacked the confidence to do it.
I’ve always wanted to be part of a community of writers who can share their journeys, uplift one another, and learn from each other.
Now, I have the skills and the confidence to do both.
The LIGHTbearer Community...
There are two streams: Eternal Favor and Eternal Future
Eternal Favor is for Authors desiring to expand and grow their writing ministry.
Eternal Future is for anyone wanting to grow their faith, understanding of God’s view of eternity, and His teachings for our future, of the things to come.
LIGHT is my focus:

Children of the Light Series
The Children of Light series is a set of six Christian fantasy novels that take place after the Rapture and before the Tribulation. The series has several characters that are woven throughout the books, yet each book is unique and could stand on its own. However, reading them in order will give the reader a better, more satisfying experience. Light is a gift from God, given to a few individuals, and is used against the forces of darkness that threaten to overwhelm the post-apocalyptic world. These individuals have the responsibility to use their gifts to protect the new remnant of Christians that have arisen since the rapture. Accepting that responsibility is often difficult, and some fight against it.
