Using Words to Bring Light

About Jana

I am a Christian author, teacher, and mentor who writes and serves under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. My work lives at the intersection of faith, Scripture, and story (faith, fact and fiction)—particularly focused on End Times fiction that invites hope rather than fear.

Stories have always been part of my life. As a child, I grew up listening to bedtime stories told by my grandmother—stories rich with imagination, wonder, and meaning. Those early moments shaped me more than I realized. Long before I understood the call or purpose, stories were already shaping how I listened, reflected, and imagined.

Although writing remained a quiet companion throughout my life, it wasn’t until later that it became an act of obedience. After a long and fulfilling career in medical research, an unexpected early retirement and relocation brought a season of profound stillness.

That season—marked by distance, isolation, and ultimately the global pause of COVID—became a turning point. In the quiet, God gently redirected my focus.

Writing For God or Writing With God

It was there that I discovered the difference between writing for God and writing with God.

As I returned daily to Scripture, prayer, and journaling, I began to recognize the Holy Spirit’s role in my creative work. Writing was no longer driven by effort or striving, but by listening. Words would come with clarity and peace. The stories unfolded in ways I could not have planned, carrying depth and purpose far beyond my own ideas.

In 2017, God impressed upon me a vision for what would become the Children of Light series. That vision carried both urgency and assurance, leading me into independent publishing so the stories could reach readers without delay. What followed was not just the release of books, but the unfolding of a larger calling.

Over time, I came to understand that God was shaping more than my writing—He was shaping me. My journey has been one of learning to live from God’s love, to follow His leading, to steward the gifts He has entrusted to me, to endure with hope, and to allow Him to transform me steadily and faithfully.

Today, alongside my fiction and devotionals, I support other believers—especially writers—who sense a call to create with eternal purpose. Through mentoring, teaching, and community, I encourage others to listen closely to God’s voice, walk in obedience, and reflect His truth into the world.

I do not believe in performance-based faith.

I believe in spiritual formation.

In faith that grows quietly, steadily, and fruitfully under God’s hand.

LightBearer Community

Over time, I realized that writing and faith were never meant to be lived in isolation. What began as a personal journey of obedience gradually revealed a deeper calling—to walk alongside others seeking clarity, purpose, and faithfulness in how they live and create.

The LightBearer Community grew out of that realization. It is a Christ-centered space for believers—readers, writers, and seekers alike—who desire to live with eternal perspective, listen closely to God’s leading, and steward their calling with humility and hope.

This community is not built on pressure or performance, but on formation—learning to live, write, and serve from identity in Christ, guided by the Holy Spirit, and shaped over time by God’s truth.

Those who sense a desire to walk this journey together are warmly invited to learn more.

Children of the Light Series

My fiction explores what it means to live faithfully in a darkened world. Through the Children of Light series, I tell post-Rapture stories that wrestle with obedience, responsibility, fear, and hope—revealing how God’s Light sustains His people even in the most uncertain times.

These stories are written to encourage trust in God’s faithfulness and to remind readers that Light is always received, never manufactured.
