Access

In days gone by, having access to the King, not just his presence, but having his ear… in other words, being able to talk with him, was a high privilege. Very few people had that ability.

Ephesians 3:12
In him and through faith in him we may approach God with freedom and confidence.

BUT as Christians, through our faith in Christ, through His sacrifice on our behalf, through the power of the Holy Spirit who resides in us, we have access to the King of Kings! We have access to the Creator of everything, because we have access to God.

What an incredible privilege it is!

An Eternal King

Think about it… you have the ear of the King… an all-powerful, all knowing, ever-present, eternal King! He does not change with the times, his term will not run out, he will not die. A King whose promises always come through, unlike our politicians who rarely carry out what they promise.

Just Go To Him

The beauty is, that we may go to Him with anything, even just to chat, whenever we want to. In addition, He not only hears us, He listens and He responds. No appointment or audience is necessary. Just you and the King.

So, take advantage… spend time with him.

How?

How? Read your Bible, pray and just talk to Him.

Why? Because it is what he wants. He wants a relationship with you. What better way to establish that relationship than by spending time?

Ephesians 2:18
18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

Romans 5:1-2
1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God.

Responsibility

In the ages past, such access, although an honor and privilege, it also carries a level of responsibility. To have the King’s ear, was to inform him about things, to advise him, and in some instances, it may have even meant to protect him.

Nevertheless, we have an eternal King, who sees everything, knows all things, is everywhere all at once, is all-powerful and wiser than anyone else. He does not need our advice, to for us to tell him things so he knows, or anything else.

1 Timothy 1:17

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Our King simply wants us to go to Him and talk to him. To bring our troubles and joys to Him. Yes, we can ask him for our needs. More importantly, we can raise the needs of others before the King.

God has told us that he hears our prayers. Plus, we know that our prayers are like a fragrant incense before him, which pleases him, and maybe even brings him great joy!

Proverbs 15:29

The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

Take Advantage

So, take advantage of this incredible gift. You have the King’s ear. You have God’s ear. Plus, he promises to listen and He acts from his wisdom, compassion and grace.

Thank Him today. Then spend some time with Him.

Blessings,

Jana
